Lake Umbagog

September 16-18, 2007

We had a great three-day vacation on Lake Umbagog.  We picked up lunch at the Errol General Store and headed out from the boat launch in Errol on the Androscoggin.  Just like last September, we decided to bring the boat rather than the canoe.  It was loaded down with gear, food and firewood as we set off.

Colors were already looking good this far north!

Sunsets were stunning and mornings were very foggy.

"Our" campsite was just as we expected it.  Water levels were low.

Fishing was good!  Tim caught pickerel, bass, perch and bullhead.

Wildlife was abundant!!  We really go here for the wildlife.  The two adult eagles and one of the fledglings(?) were around all the time - even in the pine tree on our island!  Loons, mergansers, herons and ducks were everywhere.
