Hiked March 28, 2009 by Tim, Valerie, Debi, Larry, Heather, Will, Aunt Heather and Ben
We all agreed to meet at the parking lot at Miller State Park at 1:30PM. Unfortunately, Owen wasn't feeling much like hiking today, so he and his dad, Dan, stayed home. Heather and Ben did come and join us.
The day was wonderfully warm and sunny. There was still a little slushy snow on the Marion Davis trail and also some mud. Can't be too surprised by that in March in NH.
At the summit, we ate our snacks at a picnic table.
We don't know these folks, but thought it was just so sweet and romantic.
Here's the view to North Pack Monadnock. We'll do the hike over to that on another day.
After lunch, all the kids and some of the adults climbed the fire tower.
The damage in the forests caused by the ice storm in December was just overwhelming in its volume and intensity.
The hike back down was easy, and we were back at the car by 4:45PM.
