Hiked December 9, 2007 by Tim and Valerie via Davis Path
Conditions: The Davis Path parking lot was empty when we arrived at about 9:45am. We both started out in snowshoes. Valerie changed into Stabilicers about half-way up. The skies were clearing as we climbed, so we had blue skies and beautiful views from the top. As we made our way up to ledges, we were following the tracks of previous hikers, but you can't really tell where the trail is, as it's just painted on the rock (12 inches down). At one point, we looked over to the right and said "Hey, I guess that's the trail over there". No worries, we saw some great views from our little side-trip.
From the top of Mt Crawford, Stairs Mountain was beautiful.
The Presidentials were in full winter glory.
Crawford Notch looked incredible (Mt Willey and Field on the left, Mt Webster on the right). Note the road and also the railroad running through the valley.
Mount Kearsarge North, we think.
Tim put this "panoramic" together out of multiple individual pictures.
Stats: 5.0 miles round trip, 2100 ft elevation gain. Temperatures between 20 and 28 degrees F.
