Greeley Ponds

Hiked by: Tim and Valerie on November 6, 2005 - from Waterville Valley

Conditions: This was a fast-moving hike over almost flat ground.  7.5 miles round trip with just 500 feet of elevation gain.  The ponds were nice and quiet.  The day was gray and overcast, but no bad weather while we were out.  About 50 degrees F.

Saw a mink - very light brown.  Do they change for winter or would this be his normal color?  No idea.  Saw some very large moose prints in the mud.  He must not be too far away.  They are very fresh.

This hike would be ideal for X-C skiing.
