Start Time at the Marcy Brook Tent Site: 7:30 AM

Weather: mid to upper 80's and very humid

Elevation: 4161 feet (Ascent from Adirondak Loj - 1982 feet).

Walked out with our gear to Marcy Dam.  Dumped the gear in the woods and used the day-pack for the walk up Phelps.  About 2 miles each way from Marcy Dam.  The walk was really hard.  Maybe it was the day of walking before-hand.  I was *really* tired before we got to the top.  This peak, although considered an easy hike in the books, has no views, no sort of milestones until you are basically AT the top.  You look up and as far as you can see, it's just boulders going up, up and up.  Then you climb those and turn 90 degrees, and you find another set of boulders going up, up and up, as far as you can see.  It feels endless.

We hit Phelps, then came back and got our packs.  Hiked out to the parking lot at Adirondak Loj.
